Get To Know Jules!
Why Start A Blog?
Hi! My name is Julia, but I sometimes go by Jules. I am 25-years-old and my primary occupation is a pediatric psychiatry nurse. I truly enjoy what I do, but it’s a high-intensity job that isn’t realistic for me to do forever. Making time for my other passions, traveling & writing, has become difficult with the responsibilities of my career.
Although blogs aren’t typically a realistic way to make money, it’s been a pipe dream of mine for a long time to have one that could eventually fund future travel endeavors. But as for now, I’ll be treating this blogging journey as a passion project…
Why Solo Travel?
I have always deeply enjoyed traveling and feel fortunate that my family introduced me to it at a young age. I’ve had big dreams of travel for my whole life, but I was waiting on someone to do it with…
After a year that consisted of a major breakup, witnessing the death of a close friend, saving a girl who’d attempted suicide, (and so much more), I was truly left a shell of a human. I’d faced the worse depression of my life and had to take a leave of absence from work while I recovered. Within all that chaos though, there was a blessing. Those traumas opened my eyes to the fragility of life, initiating introspection as to why I was waiting on someone else for my dreams.
What’s The Dream?
The dream is to combine my two passions of writing & travel to develop a community that inspires other young women to step out of their complacent lives, take a risk, and live their fullest potential.
Solo travel increased my confidence in my ability to enjoy this life on my own. Everything in life is temporary, we have to embrace it’s ever-changing nature. In order to achieve this, you have to be content with being alone.
I hope that as you dive into my writings, something resonates within you. I’m excited to share my explorations with you and can only aspire that in doing so, I can share the love and healing that solo travel has provided for me.
All my love <3
